I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I hope that this testimony may help others to rely on the infinite power of God.

During my military service I was divinely protected. I felt that I was "in the secret place of the most High" (Ps. 91:1), and I was always assigned agreeable duties. Since then I have had convincing proof of the omnipotence of divine Mind, which guides and protects us under all circumstances and in every place.

On my return home I resumed my former work, but several days later I reluctantly discontinued it because of a condition of general weakness that later resulted in pleurisy. A doctor was notified, in accordance with the Social Security requirements, and my parents called a consecrated Christian Science practitioner, who kindly helped me. After the first metaphysical treatment the fever, which had been alarmingly high, immediately abated. The practitioner, who lived at the other end of France, continued to help me in my difficult struggle, and the healing was completed. The doctor insisted on X-ray photographs; so I notified the practitioner, who told me to keep the appointment and be confident that nothing would be found wrong with me. And indeed that was the case. I felt that I was indeed "hid with Christ in God" (Col. 3:3).
