I feel that the time is long overdue...

I feel that the time is long overdue for me to add my testimony to those of the many grateful people who have been benefited by the healing power of Christian Science. Fourteen years ago I was in great need of healing. Besides being ill, I was very despondent. I had undergone three years of medical treatment for stomach trouble; I was on a very strict diet, and my strength and weight were much reduced. I felt at my extremity when a new friend, seeing my plight, spoke to me of Christian Science.

She told me that she knew very little about the subject, but that her sister in South Africa had been healed many years before. She said, "If Christian Science healed my sister, it can heal you." Together we attended the services at the local branch Church of Christ, Scientist. I noticed the healing atmosphere right away and felt much uplifted by the confidence which was expressed at these meetings.

Soon I had a talk with a practitioner, and about a month later I left for a holiday with my family in a caravan. Armed with the textbooks, the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I left all powders and pills behind and felt lifted to a wonderful sense of peace. No longer did I have any fear of what to eat, but ate whatever the rest of the family did. Since then I have never looked back at the sufferings of former days.
