GOOD BUSINESS

Spiritual reflection is true business. Reflecting God is good business, for spiritual reflection is the impartation of Mind's goodness through its ideas. Such reflection is one with supply or maintenance; it is God's expression in all its richness and fullness. Jesus early recognized the function of true selfhood and defined it as being about his "Father's business" (Luke 2:49).

The scientific concept of business takes away the sense of it as being a personal affair. Holding this concept, one begins to find the true meaning of success: success that does not ebb or flow, depending upon human circumstances or upon decisions and impulses of mortals; success that does not take from one to bless another.

One of the first aids Christian Science brings to the business person is release from fear of unfair competition. He sees through Science that there can be no conflict, no overlapping, no restricting, in the infinitude of good; that the activity of each idea is individualized fulfillment in Mind's infinite expression. Limitation or exclusion of good is ruled out of consciousness by the acceptance of business as the infinite expression of the one God. What one claims for himself he necessarily must claim for all, or his concept at once becomes less than infinite. Any belief in limitation or lack of good anywhere may react detrimentally upon what we call our business or our income, which is the objectification of our thought.
