"THIS BANQUET OF CHRISTIAN SCIENCE"

The giving of testimonies at the Wednesday meeting in every Church of Christ, Scientist, is one form of expressing praise to God for the demonstrable understanding of His unfailing goodness which we have gained through the teachings of Mary Baker Eddy. No matter how simple these testimonies are, they tell of thanksgiving that overflows the heart for the healing, protecting, and regenerating influence of divine Love.

The question sometimes arises in our churches, especially when there seems to be a need for more testimonies, as to who should give them. In approaching this subject we may well turn to Mrs. Eddy's instruction in "Miscellaneous Writings" where she says (p. 149): "Invite all cordially and freely to this banquet of Christian Science, this feast and flow of Soul. Ask them to bring what they possess of love and light to help leaven your loaf and replenish your scanty store. Then, after presenting the various offerings, and one after another has opened his lips to discourse and distribute what God has given him of experience, hope, faith, and understanding, gather up the fragments, and count the baskets full of accessions to your love, and see that nothing has been lost."

If the hungry and thirsty are to go away refreshed from our banquets of Christian Science, they must be given proof of God's healing power. Who more than one healed through Christian Science is prepared to declare the wonders of God's love and supporting influence?
