After suffering from a badly injured knee for twenty-five years, I was instantaneously healed through the work of a Christian Science practitioner. This gives me great cause for praise and gratitude to God for the healing efficacy of Christian Science.

The knee was injured while I was in high school. For a few years I kept it bandaged and wore an elastic kneecap. Occasionally, without warning, the knee would spring out of joint, causing me to fall. X-ray pictures showed a growth forming around the ends of the bones. I was informed that this growth would continue and that eventually I would have a stiff leg. Unable to guarantee the success of an operation, two surgeons advised against it.

During the First World War a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy was presented to me by a Christian Science Camp Welfare Worker. Through the years following I received many proofs of God's care; but I left most of the metaphysical work to be done by practitioners.
