That Christian Science heals I can indeed bear witness. One of my first proofs of its efficacy was an instantaneous healing of a broken nose. This was brought about through the understanding of my mother, who at that time was quite a new student of Christian Science.

Our eldest son slipped while carrying a kettle of scalding water and scalded the entire right side of his face. My husband drove into town to the nearest Christian Science practitioner and asked for help. My son was able to tell the moment his father had reached the practitioner, for the pain ceased instantly. The next day the new skin began to show through, and within a very few days there was no evidence that he had been burned.

One morning about three years ago our youngest son became ill. He complained of having a stiff neck and was very feverish. In spite of my work he grew rapidly worse until by five o'clock that afternoon he was unable to raise his head from the pillow and was in great pain. Filled with fear, I went to a Christian Science friend and asked for help. After I had talked to her the fear was lifted from my thought as though it had been a great weight, and I drove home rejoicing in the power and ever-presence of God. The child slept soundly all night and in the morning awoke with the joyous cry, "My neck is all right!" And he proceeded to stand on his head to show me.
