It is now more than eight years...

It is now more than eight years since I first came into Christian Science. I can never express enough gratitude for all that it has done for me and my family. Through the loving help of a relative and of faithful practitioners I was guided to study the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and also the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. By doing so I gained an understanding of the truth of being which could be applied to daily problems.

As a child I had loved reading and studying the Bible, but had not found satisfaction in an orthodox religion. Although at first wary of accepting what I thought to be a new religion, after I had studied Science and Health for three months I knew it to be the Comforter, the truth that makes free, spoken of by Jesus. He said (Matt. 7:20), "By their fruits ye shall know them." Step by step this has proved to be so in our experience, for as the truth has been understandingly applied, healing has followed.

Through treatment from a practitioner one son was healed of boils, which used to appear every year. That was many years ago, and he has not had a boil since then. Another son was healed of a serious eye injury after a doctor, called by the boy's father, had said there was little hope of saving the eye or restoring his sight. This medical statement was not accepted. A practitioner who was over one thousand miles away was called on the telephone. Treatment was lovingly given, and in three and a half days our son's sight was fully restored, and his eye was normal. In the ensuing years his sight has remained perfect.
