"EVERLASTING ARMS OF LOVE"

[Of Special Interest to Children]

The first Sunday that Ellen went to the Christian Science Sunday School it was not easy for her to sit quietly on her little chair. But soon she learned to listen to what the teacher told her of God, and then she wanted to go every Sunday. One of the first lessons she was taught was that God is Love and that He is everywhere. She was told too that there is only one God, who loves every one of His children and takes care of them all the time.

When Ellen left the primary room she went into a class of boys and girls who were learning the Ten Commandments; and as she progressed from one class to another she learned the Beatitudes, the Lord's Prayer, with its spiritual interpretation as given by Mary Baker Eddy on pages 16 and 17 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and helpful truths drawn from the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly; and she learned how to use them.

When she was nine Ellen could read quite well and could read some of the hymns that were sung in Sunday School. She loved the poems by Mrs. Eddy that had been set to music. Sometimes she would sing at home (Poems, p. 4):
