Christian Science College Organizations

"By their fruits ye shall know them"

"Would it not be the greatest inconsistency to leave out of one's college experience an association with the highest of all learning, Christian Science?" This question was asked by a young attorney, a former member of a Christian Science college organization, when he recently addressed a meeting in the interest of Christian Science activities at institutions of higher learning. The meeting of prospective college students, their parents, and friends was held in a branch church in the Middle West.

The attorney answered his own question by relating his experience at a large university, where for a while he felt an acute sense of bewilderment, despite the exhilaration of beginning a new adventure. "The rush of events, activities, and classes," he said, "would have engulfed my attention to the exclusion of Christian Science and the importance it should have in all my activities had it not been for several members of the Christian Science Organization at the university. As a result of my contact with them, I was introduced to other Christian Scientists, and I began attending the organization's meetings and using its study room."

This action helped him to strengthen his loyalty to Christian Science in the face of fraternal, social, and scholastic demands. In speaking of loyalty to a high cause, he reminded his listeners that no one need feel apologetic for loyalty to the Cause of Christian Science.
