TO ONE READING THE WORD OF GOD
Trust
the idea which Science has revealed,
Ponder in secret, live it openly,
And watch its beauty flower tranquilly.
Learn well the holy pages now unsealed,
So long by forms and outgrown creeds concealed.
Love the idea and let its harmony
Command each moment, till your eyes shall see
Discordant sense, disease, divinely healed.
Trust the idea, and let its message flow
Through speech from artistry and self made clean.
It will express itself with tender glow,
Keep bright the glory where God's love is seen.
Hard wills will melt and sense-sick mortals know
The healing Christ, omnipotent, serene.
Margaret Morrison
