I should like to give this testimony of thanksgiving and praise to our omnipotent God, the one and only Mind.

My mother began studying Christian Science in 1911, when I was a little girl. A neighbor brought her a copy of The Christian Science Journal when my young brother, who had typhoid fever, pneumonia, and appendicitis, had been given up by the best doctors in the district. None of the practitioners listed in the Journal lived in our town, but the nearest one was sent a telegram, and work was taken up. The night my brother appeared to be in the greatest danger the fever broke, and he was released from the bondage of all these diseases.

When twelve years old I had been given up as incurable and had been in bed for three months when the same practitioner was called. I was back in school in a comparatively short time. During the years there have been many beautiful proofs of the omnipresent care and protection of divine Love. After graduating from high school I found myself holding offices in the business world that very few girls in their teens had the opportunity to hold. My older brother was completely protected during World War I.

Since my marriage my husband and I have had the privilege of working together in church activities. Our son has had many lovely proofs of God's healing power and the blessing of attending a Christian Science Sunday School. So-called children's diseases were readily overcome for him. When he was in the first grade at school a very noticeable growth appeared on his right hand, alarming his teachers. We did our work in Christian Science, and the growth disappeared. Also warts were destroyed for him. Other healings in our family have been those of asthma, hay fever, and sick headaches. Quinsy, which had given me much difficulty each winter, was instantly overcome long ago and has never returned.

While we were at our summer place a few years ago my ankle twisted under me, throwing me onto the edge of the porch, where I lay for a few minutes declaring the allness of Truth and the nothingness of matter. Then I crawled into the cabin and onto the couch, where I rested while realizing that man, as the divine and harmonious reflection of God, cannot be separated from Him and that man's being is forever sustained by infinite Spirit. Then I rose and drove the car some five miles to the boat to pick up my husband. Upon returning home I was able to get the dinner. However, about two o'clock in the morning I awoke with intense pain. My husband also awoke and dressed immediately upon noticing that my ankle was discolored and more than twice its normal size. He walked quickly through the dense woods to a telephone and called a practitioner. Almost before he returned I could feel the intense pain leaving, and soon I fell asleep. In the morning I woke absolutely free and was able to entertain a boatload of people, being on my feet all day with no one knowing what had happened.

These are only a few of the beautiful proofs we have had in our family of the healing power of God through the Christ, "the divine manifestation of God, which comes to the flesh to destroy incarnate error" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 583).

For the love and joy and peace of mind we experience by sticking to the truth of being and communing with God, I am most grateful.
