LAW AND DISCIPLESHIP
In the kingdom of God spiritual law and its enforcement are coincident or concurrent. Under the jurisdiction of divine Mind and its spiritual laws man, God's image and likeness, is naturally obedient.
The question may be asked, "What is it that makes man naturally obedient to spiritual law?" The answer is, "Divine Love." Because man, God's idea, includes the attributes of Love, he reflects obedience. He loves to be obedient because he is the reflection of Love, and he lives to be obedient because he lives in divine Life; and Life is synonymous with divine Love. Man is held within the embrace of divine law, and therefore he can experience nothing which separates him from the laws of God, the laws of harmony.
It is clear that the discipline of divine Love is not the discipline which demands punishment under the law, for it is impossible for man under the control of divine Love to commit an act worthy of punishment. The kingdom of divine law is the realm of the real, and it is impossible to conceive of a moment when divine Truth is not operative.
