St. Paul writes (I Thess. 5:16-18)...

St. Paul writes (I Thess. 5:16–18): "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks." Truly, everyone who has experienced the healing power of Christ, Truth, has cause for rejoiceing and thanksgiving. For this reason I should like to share some of my experiences in Christian Science, for I have had many proofs of the efficacy of this practical religion.

Upon completion of my college studies I suffered from a nervous breakdown and a heart condition. In the four and a half years that followed, the efforts of a physician failed to bring about my recovery. When a dear friend recommended Christian Science and offered to lend me a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I accepted the book. I began to read with interest at first, and then with great eagerness, because the chapter on Prayer showed me that this was the religion for which I had been searching all my life.

My first few hours' reading of the textbook resulted in the instantaneous healing of a cold, and in a few days my general physical condition was much improved. In about three months I was able to work for the first time since finishing college, although it was some time before the healing was complete, as I seemed to have many lessons to learn.
