Sharing "Our Immediate Opportunities" Meeting

Thousands of Christian Scientists in many countries have come a little closer to the activities connected with the 1951 Annual Meeting of The Mother Church by hearing a tape recording of the meeting "Our Immediate Opportunities," held in Boston on the Tuesday evening following the Annual Meeting and reported in full in the Christian Science Sentinel of July 7, 1951.

Copies of this tape recording were made available to branches of The Mother Church throughout the Field. By January of this year an estimated twenty-two hundred branch churches and societies in thirty-five countries had participated in membership meetings to hear it played. Letters from the Field indicate that healings, individual awakening, and church progress have resulted from these meetings.

What one such meeting can accomplish was illustrated in a large city of midwestern United States. A joint committee of the participating churches worked out thorough preparations for the occasion. It selected an introducer, organist, and song leader, prepared programs, and made admission cards and letters of invitation available for each participating church to mail to its members. Adequate rehearsal of the meeting was held.
