THE IMPERATIVE DEMANDS OF GOD

The demand of divine Principle is that all conform to the laws of Life, Truth, and Love. This demand compels us to give up mortal beliefs for the spiritual facts of being. Principle requires that we walk in the footsteps of Truth, for this is the only way that it has provided, and it knows no other.

Christian Science is the Science of being, absolute Truth, the revelation of perfect God and perfect man and their inseparable and permanent relationship; and it unfolds the rules by which men can understand and practice divine healing. It is derived from and based upon the inspired Word of the Bible, particularly upon the works of Christ Jesus. It was discovered by Mary Baker Eddy and given to the world in her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." That the truth as taught in Christian Science heals has already been demonstrated in innumerable instances. Witness the testimonies relating the healing of all kinds of disease and the solution of innumerable problems as given in our publications and in our Wednesday testimony meetings. Any sincere seeker for Truth can prove for himself by earnest study and application of its teachings that this doctrine is divine and efficacious to solve every problem.

A careful reading of Science and Health to observe how often Mrs. Eddy uses the word "must" disclosed to one student that it appears several hundred times. In most instances this word occurs with reference to things that we are required to do in order to demonstrate God's ever-presence and the availability of His power to mankind. Since Science and Health is a revelation, we should remember that its directives must be accepted as originating in divine Mind.
