I should like to testify to the fact...
I should like to testify to the fact that Christian Science does heal. One day I badly injured my right arm. I ran crying into the house in great pain; but having been brought up in Christian Science, I called a practitioner, who gave me some statements of truth to cling to while he took up the work.
For some time prior to this accident I had been trying without success to obtain a penmanship diploma. Now it seemed that it would be even more difficult to obtain this diploma, as the wrist of my right hand appeared to be in a most unfavorable condition. The work of the practitioner was so complete, however, that I not only received a healing of the wrist condition, but I was awarded a penmanship diploma for the writing done with my right hand during the time the healing was taking place.
Quite a number of years after this, while I was stepping out of an automobile to allow someone to get out, the door was shut on the thumb of my right hand. The pain was so extreme I thought I would faint. I was able silently to repeat "the scientific statement of being" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 468). Then I got back into the automobile and, without telling anyone what had happened, asked to be driven to the home of a friend of mine, as it seemed wise to have the injury bandaged.
