Signs of the Times

"Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world" (James 1:27).

In view of the above passage of Scripture, religion to me is Christianity—an honest, sincere effort to follow the simple teachings of the Master as they are given to us in the New Testament. This is not a Sunday job.... It is an everyday job, seven days a week, and includes all of our activities and all of our dealings with our fellow men. It is a tremendous task that requires the consistent efforts of every man and woman. I say "every" man and woman because it is an individual matter. No one else can do the job for us.... Each one must fulfill his own labor of love....
