Christian Science is to me the...

Christian Science is to me the pearl of great price. It is teaching me what true happiness, health, and substance are. Day by day it is giving me a greater understanding of God and His ever-presence, and this growing understanding is nullifying for me the fears and problems which confront mankind.

The fact that Christian Science heals instantaneously was proved to me in the following experience. On my head a growth appeared which was painful and which gradually grew larger. One morning while I was studying the Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly, which is of inestimable value to me, I put my hand to my head and found that the growth was bleeding. I immediately declared, "There is no sensation in matter," and went on with my studying. About half an hour later, as I was combing my hair, I found the comb passing without obstruction through my hair. The growth had disappeared. The healing was instantaneous and has proved permanent.

Christian Science is teaching me that man is made in the image and likeness of God and is completely satisfied with the goodness of God, thus proving the suggestions of envy and jealousy to be without foundation. The Bible says (Luke 15:31), "Son thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine." Is it any wonder that my heart overflows with gratitude to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for revealing the great truth which has enabled me to understand this saying? By her noble and courageous stand against materialism she has shown a burdened and sick humanity the way out of darkness into light, wherein is no sin, sickness, disease, or death. I am deeply grateful for class instruction and for our association meetings.—(Mrs.) Margaret Thompson, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.
