It is with a deep sense of gratitude...
It is with a deep sense of gratitude for Christian Science that I add this testimony to the many from which I have derived much encouragement.
Christian Science was introduced to me by my mother-in-law, who taught me how to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly. I shall never forget the joy and peace I felt when I read the chapter on Prayer in Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. As I continued to read I felt as though I could see everything clearer than before, although there had been nothing wrong with my eyesight. Since I have learned the true meaning of eyes (ibid., p. 586), "Spiritual discernment,—not material but mental," the world has appeared more beautiful and harmonious, though nothing has changed except my concept of it.
Through the study and application of Christian Science I experienced the immediate healing of a severe cold and sore throat. A growth on my wrist was healed over a longer period of time. Freedom from chronic constipation has been experienced, and many false fears have been overcome. The understanding of Christian Science sustained and comforted me when my husband passed on. I have come to learn the nearness of God, and my thought is humbly grateful for His loving-kindnesses, one of which is the privilege of experiencing a true sense of friendship.
