Signs of the Times

Prominent men quoted in Bible Society Record New York, New York

John Foster Dulles: The fact that so many soldiers of different races and nations are today reading and studying the same Bible means a great deal, not only in terms of their own individual lives but in terms of bringing the whole human race to a unifying determination to live up to a moral law, which is just as real as are the laws of physics. As we learn God's holy purpose and as we make ourselves into means for its fulfillment, then we shall be in the way of replacing man's disorder with God's design.

General Dwight D. Eisenhower: The longer one lives close to the turmoil and sacrifice and suffering of the battlefield, the more he becomes conscious of the eternal worth of the spiritual values inherent in the Christian religion.... Every moment which increases general familiarization with those principles has a direct uplifting effect upon the soldiery and citizens of the United Nations. In such efforts I stand ever ready to assist.
