In gratitude for countless instances of divine guidance, protection, and healing I write my testimony. Science babyhood I have had the advantages of Christian Science, a mother and other relatives who have helped me, and a Christian Science Sunday School.

When sixteen I fell from the top of a moving double-decker bus onto a busy street, a distance of about fifteen feet, and sustained what medical law calls a fractured skull and concussion of the brain. When my mother was advised of this, she had a practitioner take up metaphysical work and in four days had me removed to our home, much against the wishes of the doctor on the case, who thought she was taking my life in her hands. Within ten days I was able to drive out in a car, and I moved around normally within about two weeks. This seemed all the more remarkable since the physician had advised an operation to put metal in the back of the skull where the bones were crushed. I am most grateful to the loving practitioner who worked on this case.

During the thirty-eight months that my husband, his father and mother, and I were prisoners in Manila during World War II, we had most remarkable instances of protection. Twice there were threatened epidemics, once of cholera and once of bubonic plague. Lack of garbage collection and sanitation in the city made flies and rats increase rapidly, and all the commonly accepted health laws were violated. In spite of this, no epidemics of serious diseases occurred, and the health rate in the civilian internment camps was very good, considering the poor food and other adverse conditions.
