I early learned in the Christian Science Sunday School to look to God as the one Father-Mother, the only physician, guide, protector; and this understanding of God's goodness has met my every need.

I am grateful for the following proof of the healing power of Christian Science. One evening last year I fell, turning my ankle under me. I was helped to my feet, and as I sat quietly, a Christian Scientist who was near me audibly declared the truth of man's perfection. I managed to get to my room, and as I picked up the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, it opened to page 424. I read and reread the first paragraph. I was encouraged and uplifted, and I was able to complete my tasks for the day.

By the time I retired, however, the ankle had become very swollen and painful. As I worked diligently to realize God's allness and my true spiritual identity, wholly apart from matter, the fear of incapacitation left, and the pain disappeared. When I wakened early the next morning, I was unable to walk on the foot. I began to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly for that week, the subject of which was "Adam and Fallen Man." The Golden Text was from Psalms (94:18), "When I said, My foot slippeth; they mercy, O Lord, held me up." As I read, it became clear that man as God's reflection cannot be separated for a moment from his origin, and as God cannot fall, man cannot. When I finished, I got out of bed and went about my duties, rejoicing in this proof of Love's healing presence. Later that day I ushered with perfect freedom at the Christian Science lecture given by our branch church.
