Christian Science has been a way of life for me for over thirty-five years, and I am grateful to God.

I was healed of goiter in a week's time when I turned to a Christian Science practitioner for help; also car sickness, supposed to have been inherited from my mother, was instantaneously healed. I shall always be grateful that our three children were born and brought up through the help of Christian Science. The rewards for the courage it took to stand apart in this little community where we live have been very great.

I was able to serve as local editor on a weekly newspaper for five years at an age when many women lay down their responsibilities; and I have become more active in every way as the years have gone by. While working on the newspaper, I suffered several times from pain and swelling in my knees. One night during a particularly painful attack, I turned to page 227 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and pondered the words, "The illusion of material sense, not divine law, has bound you, entangled your free limbs, crippled your capacities, enfeebled your body, and defaced the tablet of your being." As I clearly saw that it was only an illusion of material sense, I was free, and I have remained so.
