The steady progress that I have...

The steady progress that I have experienced through the study of Christian Science has been manifested in greater joy, calm, and confidence, and the fruitage that has resulted has encouraged me to demonstrate more and more the teachings of Christian Science.

In my early years of study, Sibyl Wilbur's biography of Mrs. Eddy was a wonderful help to me. I would turn to this book again and again, for I loved to read of the experiences of Mrs. Eddy and of her early students. I began to see that I too could demonstrate Christian Science, and I often referred to Mrs. Eddy's reassuring statement in "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 291), "Each and every one has equal opportunity to be benefited by my thoughts and writings."

Our two sons have had the privilege of being pupils in the Christian Science Sunday School, and through the years sickness and other problems have always been met. I did not take up the study of this Science for healing, but started to read Science and Health because my husband was interested. We have had Christian Science help for our sons ever since they were infants. My husband's mother was healed of a stroke when it looked as though the condition would prove fatal. However, she lived for over twenty years after that in good health. One of our sons was healed of diphtheria when about four years of age. It was a very severe case, and I never could doubt the healing efficacy of Christian Science after that experience. I feel I owe much to Christian Science.— (Mrs.) Barbara Kyle Whitehouse, Albion, Michigan.
