About twenty years ago my mother became interested in Christian Science through reading the Sentinel. She was not seeking physical healing, but was searching and longing for a satisfying explanation of God.

A very short time after my mother look up the study of this beautiful religion, I received my first healing, that of ptomaine poisoning, through her reading "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. This made a great impression on me, and I immediately began an earnest study of the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings, claiming God as my only physician and my only medicine.

Since going out into the business world, I have several times been lifted out of one portion to a much better one by realizing that wherever one may seem to be placed humanly, man's only employer is God, Mind, that good alone is operative, and that man exists to reflect God. In Psalms we read (75:6), "Promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south."
