My introduction to Christian Science...

My introduction to Christian Science was so beautiful that I shall never forget it or doubt the power of this Science to heal. When I was a young girl, I saw my mother, who had been an invalid for twelve years, healed in Christian Science. She had suffered from many organic diseases, and many physicians had told her that they could do nothing for her. A friend, knowing her need, recommended Christian Science treatment and at my mother's request asked a practitioner to call on her. She accepted the truths which the practitioner explained and began to study the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Through absolute dependence on God she was able in a few weeks to do her housework and to look after her family.

There are no words to express my gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving to the world the healing truth, Christian Science. It has been my only guide and physician for over thirty years. During this time I have experienced innumerable healings, among which was an instantaneous healing of acute indigestion. Before I knew of Christian Science treatment, these painful attacks lasted for several days. Rheumatism and stomach trouble were also healed.

My daughter was instantaneously healed in Christian Science of a very bad case of measles. There have been many other healings in our family, among them the overcoming of the smoking habit in one treatment. The Christian Science Sunday School was a great blessing in rearing my daughter. She had the blessed privilege of attending the Sunday School from four years of age.
