"It shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear" (Isa. 65: 24).

Christian Science was presented to me as an answer to prayer— prayer to God for wisdom, patience, and divine guidance in bringing up our two then very small daughters. I had a deep sense of responsibility for them and a great fear of the inadequacy of my own human judgment as to how best to guide them in the way to become earnest and useful citizens.

When fear in this connection was expressed to a neighbor one day, she lovingly brought to my attention the fact that we are actually all God's children, made in His image and likeness, spiritual and not material, and assured me of the all-power and ever-presence of divine Love, who cares for and guides His children. The logic of this appealed to me, and I soon purchased a copy of the Sentinel, as well as of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and began to read.
