It is a privilege to be a Christian Scientist...

It is a privilege to be a Christian Scientist and a follower of Mary Baker Eddy. She is indeed the one who gave the world the final revelation of Truth, the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus. This truth has been my only physician from childhood, and I have found it sufficient in every time of need.

One never ceases to marvel at the great love and wisdom Mrs. Eddy expressed in providing the many activities of the Christian Science movement. The Sunday School has meant much to me, and I wish to express particular gratitude for the benefits received during my sixteen years as a pupil in it.

I have had many proofs of the power of Christian Science to heal when properly applied. One outstanding healing occurred as follows. While serving in the United States Army about five years ago, I accidentally splashed a part of my body with a strong caustic solution. At first I merely wiped it off, but soon I felt the effects of the solution as it began to burn into the flesh. Then I immediately began declaring the truth that God made man in His image and likeness. As I continued metaphysical work, it became clear to me that the chemical action was merely the result of a so-called law of mortal mind and that there could be no corrosive action without this false law. It was apparent also that this false law of mortal mind could and would be nullified through the understanding of the harmonious activity of divine Mind. At this point, all fear disappeared, the action of the solution stopped, and I felt no more pain. I then covered the spot and said nothing about it, receiving no medical treatment of any kind. The next morning all evidence of the accident had gone except a slight redness, which soon disappeared.
