Words are indeed inadequate to...

Words are indeed inadequate to express the gratitude I feel for all the good that is unfolding in my daily experience through the understanding of Christian Science. I am grateful for having had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School from the time I was old enough to do so until I was twenty years of age. I am grateful to my mother for her unswerving devotion to the Cause of Christian Science.

I have seen many evidences of the healing power of this truth, including the healing of pneumonia, smallpox, influenza, measles, quinsy, burns, sick headaches, and athlete's foot. Throughout the war we were wonderfully provided with pleasant and adequate living quarters whenever we were transferred to a new location.

One healing stands out in my experience, and it has been a great inspiration to me. At one time when my husband was serving in a combat area overseas, I was troubled with a sense of anxiety and mental agitation. I wrote to a consecrated practitioner for help, which was immediately given. Just after I had written to her a large, ugly carbuncle manifested itself below my chin. I was acting as substitute in the public schools at the time and also taking part in an activity which took me before a large group of people.
