In the summer of 1928 my physical condition had reached an alarming state because of my inability to digest food. The last attending physician remarked that I would probably live only six months.
It was in this extreme need that a dear friend presented the healing message of Christian Science to me. One evening she mentioned that Christian Science explains God so clearly as to enable us to heal as Jesus healed. That night I enjoyed a peaceful night's rest, which I had not had for some time.
The dawn of a new day truly meant, "This is the day which the Lord hath made" (Ps. 118:24). One day, while my friend was explaining God in the light of Christian Science, I suddenly felt the healing power of this truth and knew that I was well. A new world had opened for me, and my new birth in Science had begun.
