MIND'S PRESENCE

The Mind that is omnipotent
Is ever here to bless,
Remove the sting of wrong intent,
Transform the wilderness.

The tiny triumphs of self-will,
Of anger, hate, and spite,
How empty and incompetent
To stand before the right.

The tender word and grateful thought,
The courage that they bring,
Transform the simple, common task
And cause the heart to sing.

Lionel A. Hartshorne
