LETTERS TO THE PRESS FROM CHRISTIAN SCIENCE COMMITTEES ON PUBLICATION

Calgary, Alberta, Canada The Herald

In The Herald is an account of an address by a medical doctor to the Canadian Pharmaceutical Association in which it is reported the doctor said some nervous patients "hate doctors and love chiropractors, osteopaths, and Christian Science practitioners because they feel that ordinary doctors think all their ills are imaginary."

While we can agree with many of the statements made by the doctor, we owe it to the reading public to point out that Christian Science practitioners, who practice entirely from a mental and spiritual standpoint, should not be classed with chiropractors and osteopaths, who practice from a material basis. Also, in order that there may be no misunderstanding, it is fair to state that sincere Christian Scientists bear no hate toward medical doctors, but on the contrary have great respect for the motives of the higher class of physicians in their devoted efforts to relieve human suffering.
