Those who have received the rich blessings of Christian Science in their daily living are grateful that provision is made in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy for the spiritual education of children.
Having enjoyed the blessings of Christian Science for many years, I should like to express my deep appreciation of its benefits.
It is now over eighteen years ago that a dear friend, seeing my urgent need, put a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, into my hands.
I was raised in a very happy Christian home and was taught to read and love the Bible from the time I was a very young child.

Several years ago, when clearing up a shelf in our basement, I found a small bottle labeled carbolic acid.
Even though my mother saw to it that I had the usual childhood church associations, for fifteen years after I came out of Sunday School my life was spent in worldliness, packed with hardship and frustration, and I was even faced with a future of uncertainty Early in 1944, after four years of active service in the armed forces, I was close to physical exhaustion.
For many years I have enjoyed the testimonies in the Christian Science periodicals and at the Wednesday testimony meetings.
I had suffered for years from stomach trouble accompanied by intense pain.
The early training and education I had was based on the belief that matter is real and substantial.
