It is now over eighteen years ago that a dear friend, seeing my urgent need, put a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, into my hands. I could not have gone on much longer without help, for I was believing in the reality of poor health, lack, mental depression, an unhappy home; and I had no desire to continue living.

In a matter of months, solely through my reading the textbook and attending Christian Science church services and lectures, such a radiant sense of health as I had never known came to me, and it was accompanied by real joy and happiness. My friends and my teachers at the normal school were so amazed at my changed appearance that they could not refrain from asking what I had done to myself.

During my first visit to a Christian Science practitioner I was instantaneously healed of a sense of hatred toward a member of my family who, it seemed to me, was the cause of much unhappiness. I wish to express my deepest sense of gratitude for the work of the practitioner who has stood faithfully by me through many trials.
