In reverence and humility I am...

In reverence and humility I am happy to express my gratitude for Christian Science. For many healings and increasing spiritual understanding, "my heart is singing: I have found the way" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 64).

As a result of my reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, my first healing came about. This was a healing of fungus on my feet, which a skin specialist could not cure. Another healing outstanding to me was that of a broken wrist. During a snowstorm with ice covering the ground, I was on patrol duty when I slipped and fell hard on my right hand. The pain was severe, but I repeated aloud "the scientific statement of being" from Science and Health (p. 468), then got up and continued my patrol. My wrist was limp and swollen, but I finished my four-hour duty and went home. I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner, who began treatment at once.

I never lost one day from work and never accepted the evidence of a broken wrist as real; no X ray was made, no plaster cast and no splints were used. In less than three weeks my wrist was strong enough for me to play eighteen holes of golf. I am sincerely grateful for this healing.
