Church Dedications
Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.
Duncan, Oklahoma (Society).
Dedicatory services were held on Sunday, July 1, 1951, in the morning and afternoon, by members of Christian Science Society, Duncan, for their new buff brick building located at the corner of Ash and Eighth Streets. Following is a short history of the society, which was read at each service.
The first Christian Science services in Duncan were informal meetings held in a private home for several years, beginning about 1923. In 1927 the group moved to the Odd Fellows' Hall and later to the Courthouse.
