For many years I have been the recipient of so many blessings from reading the testimonies of others appearing in the Christian Science periodicals that I feel I should express my gratitude through the same medium. It was during World War I that my mother first started to study Christian Science. She learned of it through the healing of a member of our family, and from then on Christian Science was our guide. I had the privilege and benefit of membership in the Sunday School for nine wonderful years. I am increasingly grateful for the foundation that it gave me in this Science.

My first healing was of mumps. My mother was very new in Science, but she turned to the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, for guidance. Through her reading and understanding I was healed in two days of every semblance of the condition. My classmates, not knowing of Christian Science, could not understand my quick recovery, and my mother and I realized that a blessing indeed had come to us. That healing has since been an inspiration and beacon light to me.

My mother was healed of a broken rib through the help of a Christian Science practitioner. When X rays were taken a few days later, no sign of a break was apparent. Retakes of the X rays were ordered by the doctor who had pronounced the bone broken, but they also showed no sign of a break.
