TRUTH'S ANSWER
In
loneliness and anguish
My heart cried out to Thee:
"I thought Truth's way was easy,
Unfettered, calm, and free.
Then whence this darkened valley,
And why these bitter tears?
Is this Truth's compensation
For all my earthborn fears?"
Then gently came the answer:
"Be still, my child, and know
Beneath this mortal tempest
Truth's healing waters flow.
Make this thine own Peniel;
Oh, wrestle and be free!"
Then Truth dispelled the darkness—
I saw Christ come to me!
