This testimony is being offered in the sincere desire that it may go forth to help others in their efforts to obey Mrs. Eddy's words found in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 326), "Working and praying with true motives, your Father will open the way."

Upon entering a local hospital for nurses' training, I was given by my mother a copy of Science and Health. It was read occasionally at that time, but later, while I was employed as a registered nurse, more interest and love was awakened through an instantaneous healing of the smoking habit. Although I was employed as a medical nurse, adherence to the teachings of Christian Science for myself proved to be a comfort.

The opportunity came to me to do private-duty nursing. This enabled me to more thoroughly study Christian Science and to attend the lectures. The Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly were studied daily, and whenever possible church services were attended and loved. Gradually it was made possible for me to subscribe to all of the Christian Science periodicals. Still further blessings came to me through membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. Each step as it unfolded under God's guidance brought more growth in spiritual understanding.
