Since my introduction to Christian Science I have had uncountable, undeniable proofs of its healing power physically, morally, and financially. Each day provides a fresh opportunity for me to acknowledge the effects of the ever-present and ever-active law of God, good.

About fourteen years ago I had become very fearful and depressed, seemingly the result of accumulated self-love and self-will. From a material point of view my future appeared to be anything but secure or attractive.

Although my concept of God was limited, I had often asked Him to show me a way out of my difficulties. At a time when everything seemed worse than usual my prayers were answered. An inspired thought so strong that it seemed almost audible said, "Go to a practitioner." I knew practically nothing about practitioners, although I was familiar with the fact that their activity was a part of Christian Science. I shall never forget the loving compassion and wisdom expressed during my first visit. As the result of that visit I purchased a copy of our precious textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. At first its text seemed difficult and strange, but as I continued to read and, in my travels, to visit practitioners, who patiently helped me, I found in it several passages which had an inspiring and calming influence for me.
