"Bless the Lord, O my soul: and...

"Bless the Lord. O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who forgiveth all thine iniquities: who healeth all thy diseases." These words from a famous Psalm, brought to my notice by a testimony in a Christian Science periodical of a woman who had been healed of asthma through Christian Science, helped me tremendously at a time when I was suffering agony as a result of sudden periodic attacks of this disease. Asthma, to which I found myself in bondage, first appeared some nine years ago, after I had allowed myself to become estranged from the teachings of Christian Science, with which I had been acquainted from childhood.

After suffering off and on from spasmodic attacks for more than four years, during which time the use of drugs and a change of climate had only benefited mo temporarily, I turned unreservedly and humbly to God for healing. The help of a student of Christian Science was enlisted, and as a result of her treatment, I was completely healed.

My suffering had been so great that, at times I was tempted to consider death to be my only deliverer. Anyone who has gone through a similar experience will to a certain extent realize the joy that way and still is mine at being healed. I am once more capable of really hard work and also able to participate in various forms of sport, something which I had come to look upon as impossible for me. Naturally, my gratitude is beyond words. Like the prodigal son, I had strayed into an unreal consciousness and have been led back by divine Love into a consciousness of freedom from limitation.
