Alone at home, I awakened one...

Alone at home, I awakened one morning with a severe pain in my knee; at almost the same moment came the realization that breakfast must be prepared for the yardman who was coming to set out flowers. Ignoring the pain, I arose; the knee buckled under me, and I fell to the floor. In great confusion of mind as to the cause of this sudden development of error, I struggled to get up from the floor; but try as I might, I could not.

Exhausted, I lay still. There came to my thought then the words of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, from "the scientific statement of being" in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 468), "All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all." and (pp. 476, 477): "Jesus beheld in Science the perfect man, who appeared to him where sinning mortal man appears to mortals. In this perfect man the Saviour saw God's own likeness, and this correct view of man healed the sick."

When I again saw myself in my true relation to God, I was instantaneously healed. I arose and took up the work of the day.
