THE SONG OF THE ANGELS

Down through the centuries the angelic song that heraleded the birth of Jesus and his great mission as the Way-shower and Exemplar is still sounding (Luke 2:14), "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men." This song of songs declares the oneness and allness of God and the power of His redeeming Christ to heal the world of hate. It epitomizes the purpose and fulfillment of the Christ. It points the only way whereby humanity may find that which it is seeking, a true and lasting peace.

Today it is imperative that a world torn and divided, as it would seem, by clashing concepts and opinions should hearken to the heavenly host and catch the spirit of its song. Today, perhaps as never before, men are awakening to an understanding of what the life and healing works of Jesus represent. His works are beginning to have new and vital meaning, and his character to command the appreciation it has always merited. Christian Scientists are grateful for these evidences of spiritual awakening because they recognize the true significance of Christ and what it has meant in their lives—Christ as exemplified in the life and thought of the Master, and Christ today as the incorporeal idea revealed in Christian Science.

For every student of this Science this season has a deep and holy meaning far transcending any sense material. Today we pause to contemplate Christ as evidenced in the life of the Master and consider how we may bring the understanding and demonstration of this spiritual idea into our own experience, as Christ Jesus declared we must and could do.
