We read in Psalms (34:1), "I...
We read in Psalms (34:1), "I will bless the Lord at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth." I wish to take this opportunity to bless the Lord for all the benefits that have been bestowed upon my family and me during the past fourteen years.
Christian Science found my wife and me in a state of frustration and despondency. Our two children were almost constantly ill, and at that time our daughter was suffering from chronic asthma. We had exhausted every means that materia medica could offer, and we were told by the doctors that they could do nothing further to help her. The child was of preschool age, and we despaired of her ever being able to begin her schooling.
Then we were told about Christian Science, and while the child was having an asthmatic attack we called a practitioner. Only one treatment was given, and all the frightening symptoms disappeared, never to return. She has had a normal healthful life and has now completed her college education. We are indeed grateful that she is a happy, intelligent, and well-poised young lady.
Our son was suffering from a weak constitution which we believed was inherited. No matter how we tried to speed his physical progress, he did not improve. Christian Science help was sought for him, and although progress was not rapid, because of our imbedded belief in heredity, persistent study of the truth finally resulted in our overcoming fear, and he is now a sturdy lad, full of vitality, and a credit to the Christian Science Sunday School, which taught him his God-given birthright.
Through the years, I myself have been healed of many chronic and acute illnesses, such as extreme nervousness and migraine headache. I have also been able to overcome negative traits of character and am looking forward to further progress in that direction. My business has been protected right along by my application of Science, and this has resulted in my having time and opportunity for church activity.
For the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church, and for class instruction, I am sincerely thankful.—Abraham Freedman, Brooklyn, New York.
I wish to verify my husband's testimony and to express my deepest appreciation to the dear one who first introduced us to Christian Science. I myself have been healed of chronic constipation and in a very few days of inflammatory rheumatism. I should like to express at this time my gratitude for the Christian Science Sunday School, where both my children have received a firm grounding in Christian Science. To the many loving practitioners who have helped us in our journey Spiritward, I am profoundly thankful.
Our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, states on page 3 of "Pulpit and Press," "Know, then, that you possess sovereign power to think and act rightly, and that nothing can dispossess you of this heritage and trespass on Love." Holding to this statement, I have been able to utlize my God-given talents in working in my own right in my daily activities and as a member of a branch church. Class instruction has been a joy and privilege, as also has been membership in a branch church and in The Mother Church.—(Mrs.) Theresa D. Freedman, Brooklyn, New York.
As the daughter referred to in the above testimony, I should also like to express gratitude for the many blessings which I have received through Christian Science. Perhaps the greatest joy I experienced was instruction in the Christian Science Sunday School, and I know that the lessons which I have learned will be help to me throughout my life.
I am thankful for many beautiful physical healings I have had in the past fourteen years. I have relied wholly upon divine Mind to solve my problems and have found God to be an ever-present help.
(Miss) Othalie Freedman
I am the son mentioned in the above testimony. I am exceedingly grateful for the privilege of having the benefits of Christian Science extended to me so early in my life. I have applied Christian Science in my schoolwork, and it has enabled me to contribute my share toward a congenial family atmosphere by applying its precepts in a practical manner.
I am grateful for the Sunday School and for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church.—Robert Freedman.
