"COMFORTERS ARE NEEDED MUCH"

Ask God to give thee skill
In comfort's art:
That thou may' st consecrated be
And set apart
Unto a life of sympathy.
For heavy is the weight of ill
In every heart;
And comforters are needed much
Of Christlike touch.

How clearly Mary Baker Eddy, our beloved Leader, understood the world's great need of healing comfort is evidenced by her use of this quotation from A. E. Hamilton on page 95 of her own work "Retrospection and Introspection." Christian Science, her wondrous discovery, is in our midst today as the Comforter promised by Christ Jesus. It is here to heal and save and bless. All who understand its pure teaching inevitably become true comforters. Never has the need of men and nations been greater; never has the redemptive and healing power of this liberating Comforter been so widely known.
