I have always been helped much by the testimonies of others which appear in our periodicals, and I feel it is now time I expressed my gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me.

One of the first healings I had was that of wearing glasses after the doctors predicted I could never get along without them. This healing took place while I was in high school. It was complete and has proved permanent. I also experienced a healing of dye infection during that time by singing hymns and realizing the truth as stated in "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy.

I have never ceased being grateful for class instruction. For years I thought that this teaching was something one took when he had become about perfect. Now I know differently. We are taught how to work in Christian Science. Recently I went through a period of great unhappiness and mental depression, and I could not seem to rise out of it. One day I heard a friend of mine being criticized for a testimony that she had given. I knew this friend was a sincere, earnest student, and I was filled with indignation. I became more and more irritable and unhappy until I suddenly realized that I myself was becoming more critical all the time, both in my speech and in my thinking, and I saw that unless I corrected this error I would continue to be a resentful and an unhappy individual.
