Through Christian Science I...

Through Christian Science I have been healed of rheumatism, athlete's foot, cramps, influenza, double pneumonia, and many lesser experiences of pain, discomfort, and discord. The rheumatism was healed by the absent treatment of a practitioner. the healing of pneumonia came when both my mother and I were young in Science. A practitioner was working for me, and my mother knew through one dark night that I seemed to be battling with the enemy, but she trusted me implicitly to our Father-Mother, Life. The attack of influenza was overcome years ago, when I was living under seemingly depressing and hopeless conditions, through the reading of our textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, for an hour or so.

My gratitude is deep indeed that I am learning to love. Lost articles have been restored to us in beautiful ways, and by following Mind's directing we have been at the right place at the right time. Through the years, in addition to studying daily the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and reading the Christian Science literature, I have done much studying with the Concordances to the Bible and to Science and Health and other works by our dearly loved Leader, Mrs. Eddy.

During the war emergency, when I seemed to be in a badly run-down condition due to overwork, I suffered from a streptococcic throat. One evening the consecrated practitioner who was helping me came to pay us a surprise visit, with the prayerful desire to destroy this belief in a power opposed to God. I was unable to speak, but wrote her notes. In the morning I telephoned to tell her that the swelling had gone, that I had been able to sleep, and that I entertained great gratitude. Soon I returned to work.
