Signs of the Times
Rev. C. O. Rhodes in an article in Public Opinion, London, England
If asked what was the central problem of human life, most people of any spiritual depth would say at once that it was that of evil. There is no problem of good. Nobody spends sleepless nights wondering why this amazing thing called "good" should so permeate the evil of this world, nor why happiness should invade the sanctities of suffering. Pain is the unwelcome visitor. Sorrow is the gate-crashing intruder whose rights are questioned.
That is of the profoundest significance. With their surest insights men of all kinds and creeds ... perceive that reality is fundamentally good and that evil is alien.
