I became interested in Christian Science through the patient and persistent efforts of a dear sister who lived in another city. She was healed in Christian Science, and her letters were so convincing that I purchased a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy and started to read the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly and to attend the church services and lectures. I was just past the age for Sunday School, but I joined The Mother Church and a branch church.

Through the years the love and support of this sister have been wonderful sources of encouragement. There have been many healings and many trials and deep waters, but always God's love and care have sustained and healed me. I am grateful that there never was any temptation to resort to material means for healing.

We have lived in many different cities from New York to San Francisco, as well as in Canada, and always the understanding of Christian Science has enabled us to find suitable places to live. During World War I, when my husband was in various training camps, I was always able to find comfortable living accommodations near enough to the camp to see him every day. My husband was also wonderfully protected during eighteen months of service overseas.
