TRUTH IS ALWAYS AT WORK

In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy writes (p. 449), "A grain of Christian Science does wonders for mortals, so omnipotent is Truth, but more of Christian Science must be gained in order to continue in well doing." This statement is an encouragement to many who are on the threshold of Christian Science, as well as to the students of experience. Those who are burdened with a problem of sickness, or are struggling with sin, need such encouragement.

God is omnipotent, and man, His image and likeness, is never outside the realm of Mind's power or beyond the range of Love's control. As we entertain the truth concerning God and man, it will work spontaneously and inevitably. We need not wait for an intimate acquaintance with Christian Science in order to enjoy its first fruits. The revelation of divine Truth and Love in human consciousness brings immediate assurance and instantaneous relief.

To wait on Truth does not mean that we sit idly around until something happens. To wait on God means to serve God, and service in Science carries a scientific—that is to say a certain—reward. "Why stand ye here all the day idle?" said the master of the vineyard to the unemployed at his gate (Matt. 20:6). "Because no man hath hired us," was the reply. "Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive," the master answered.
